Small Steps Shopping Tour
Small Steps was founded by a San Benito County accounting firm in 1997 with a mission to provide warm winter coats and shoes for children that may not receive them. The main goal is to reach as many local children each November, where volunteers recruited by the organization take the children shopping for coats and shoes. 375 children are preselected by the local school district, and when a teacher identifies a child, their siblings are also included on the shopping trip.
North Coast Medical had eight volunteers who assisted children ages 3 years old to 14 years old. In total, our NCM volunteers took 19 children shopping, each child was provided $100 by Small Steps Sponsors which was used to buy school clothes and shoes. The Small Steps Shopping Tour is an annual event hosted in Hollister and North Coast Medical is excited to provide support each year!
“Volunteering for the Small Steps organization was so rewarding! Being able to spread joy to children less fortunate by helping them shop for clothes and shoes is something I will hold dear forever. The look and smile on their faces was priceless.”

“Participating in the Small Steps event was such a humbling experience. I’m so grateful that I got to be a part of it and represent NCM in the community.”
